David at What’s Good to Read has given I, Pod by Rebecca Lisle with illustration by Richard Watson a whopping 5 stars in a recent review:
‘Overall, we loved reading I, Pod. It is a delightful little story that sees adventures with Pod’s attempts at teaching a baby to talk and his invention go wrong which leads him and Nim through dangers such as a terrible green snapper, a sabre-tooth tiger, a big beaky eagle, a waterfall and a baby mammoth! And Nim soon learns exactly where to point the blame!
This 32-page book is beautifully illustrated with bright, bold and eye-catching images that certainly grab the little ones attention and do a perfect job of telling the story. It is easy to read and the perfect length for a bedtime story.
An excellent continuation in the Stone Age series filled with plenty of Stone Age humour that keeps the attention of the young reader. The text is a good size for younger readers to read properly (and no cursive fonts to confuse our little young readers).
A fun, entertaining story with attention grabbing illustrations.’
