The Cottage at Hale
Here is the actual cottage at Hale near Liverpool that gentle giant , John Middleton lived in (1578–1623). Pictured here in he village is author Rachel Lyon holding a mock up of the book due to be published next February. The cottage is being renovated and will be available for hire next year. We certainly will book a week end for us here at Maverick.
Followers of the Childe of Hale come from all over the world and we fully expect this lovely book by Rachel to be eagerly saught after. A presentation to the National Trust will be made later this month.

The 2012 Games Start Today!
Hello all!
Thought I would write a blog on this momentous occasion….and for those who have had their heads stuck in holes for the last four years, it is today that the Games start in London!
I am of course a big fan of the Games – soooo much food involved! Also I love London. Though Deputy Poco Loco and myself have no idea who to support! You see we have travelled all over the world. I was born in Canada and the Deputy is a Portuguese Podengo….so I think we might just support all the countries, that way you can’t lose!
We will definitely be watching the cycling over the weekend!
