Transported into the Four Little Pigs!

Hello everyone!  Tom here.  As you all know the Four Little Pigs book is about my Granny magicking me into the Three Little Pigs fairy tale.  Now not all of us have a magical granny (though all granny’s are amazing – you just have to see the granny in the Fearsome Beastie!) – so for those of you who haven’t got a magical can now use the Four Little Pigs iPad app

Ok it’s not quite the same as being there but it is pretty amazing!  There are animation, sounds and someone reads the story to you.  There are even games and puzzles!

I hope to show Granny Mag when I see her next but she’s not very good with computers…they tend to explode around her!

Four Little Pigs School Reading

Date: January 28th, 2011

Due to the excitement going on at Maverick last week I forgot to tell you all how my book reading went!  There were lots of children there – all about my age…six, seven and a few eight year olds.  We all wore our dressing gowns and brought our favourite teddy bears.  It was all very exciting.

Then everyone sat down to have the Four Little Pigs read to them.  Afterwards there was hot chocolate and cookies!

Then because everyone had their teddy bears with them, we listened to Nice Bear Naughty Bear being read.  To finish it all off we did some colouring in.

It was so much fun!

There’s going to be book readings, coco and chocolate cake.  It is going to be so much fun.

I won’t be able to tell you about it next Friday as I will be on my way there…so i’ll tell you all about it on the 21st.

My Parents

I’m off to Granny’s again. You are probably wondering why I always go to my granny’s? Well my parents are secret agents and they get called away on missions over the weekend (baddie work on the weekend). Of course I am not supposed to tell you that. I am supposed to tell you the cover story that they are both boring old police officers who sometimes have to work night shifts.
They don’t really believe in magic, I don’t know how, as dad had to live with Granny for the first part of his life. He must have spent the whole time with his eyes closed. Secretly I think he’s scared of magic, maybe Granny scared him with her pixie potions?
Who knows? Perhaps I’ll ask him (once he’s back from his secret mission!).

Revisiting ‘the Four Little Pigs’

So last week I said that I might ask my granny to send me back into the book…well I did.  Grandma spelled me back into the Four Little Pigs and I grew a snout again!  It was great to see the little pigs again.  They had teamed together to make the brick house bigger for them all to live in – then inside there was lovely wooden furniture made by the second pig.  The first little pig made us all some tea.  It was really nice to see them again and they hadn’t seen the wolf at all.

“We think he made his way to the Fairytale Forest , so hopefully we won’t see him for awhile,” the third pig told me.  I feel a bit sorry for the wolf – I am sure he must be hungry.  Perhaps next time I visit I could bring some steak from Granny’s fridge?

The Four Little Pigs is in the shops!

Layout 1The Four Little Pigs is in the bookshops!  I’m sooooo excited – now all my friends can get one.

Talking of books, I went into Granny’s library (a very dusty and dark room that I try to avoid!) last weekend and found the “Four Little Pigs” book.  The real one, the one that I got zapped into.  It was great having a look through and seeing myself looking like a pig – perhaps I will ask Granny to magic me back into the book so that I can see how the three little pigs are doing.  Maybe they’ve built another house?

That might be a fun adventure for next week!

Piskies in Cornwall!

teapartyHello everyone!  I’ve just got back from a holiday with my family.  We went to Cornwall in the caravan (not very magical I’m afraid!).  Granny loves Cornwall, she says it’s full of stories of magic and magical creatures.

While we were there we stopped off at an old friend of my Granny’s.  To my surprise, he was a piskie! (a Cornish pixie).  We stayed at his house for tea (well we had to sit outside his house because we didn’t fit in).  We had some very nice berry tea and some blackberry cookies.

I told him about my  ‘Four Little Pigs’ adventure and he was very impressed.  I hope we can visit him again sometime soon!

Friday 13th!!!!

doorIt’s Friday 13th!  Granny’s house is all locked up with spells.  She says it is the day that all the mischievous creatures (like sprites and elves) come out and cause mayhem.  So my Granny is standing in the doorway of the kitchen armed with her broom!  The little creatures love coming to tease Granny as they know that she has lots of dangerous potions hidden all over the place, which could cause lots of strange things to happen in the town!

Wish us luck – I will let you know whether we manage to stop bad luck coming in the house in my next blog.

Hang on, I think I can hear something…

The other side of the house continued…

TomWell last weekend I journeyed into the other side of the house armed with nothing but a torch….I heard a crash coming from one of the rooms.   I went to investigate only to find a strange little twiggy creature carrying a huge vase.  I shone the torch at him.
“Watch it!” he shouted at me in a high pitched voice. “You almost made me drop it.”
“What are you doing?” I replied.
“What does is look like i’m doing?  I’m moving things around…”
“Why?” I said.
“…Well…Because that’s what imps do.  We cause mischief.”  I shook my head and replied,
“But no one lives in this side.”
“Nothing human does…but I love annoying the hell out of those arrogant portraits!  They’ve got shifty eyes!”

Portraits with shift eyes?  There’s never a dull moment in Granny’s house!

The other side of the house

PortraitHello!

My Granny’s house is strange place – Granny Mag says it has been in the family for generations.   She only lives in one half, the other half is full of strange bits and bobs that my ancestors have collected.   I sometimes think they still live there, as sometimes objects move.

Granny says that is Moptop, her cat, knocking things…But i’m not so sure.  I’m staying over this weekend, so maybe I will do a bit of investigating…?

Wish me luck.
