Dog Detectives Christmas Carols

Written by: Jack

Poco Loco and myself are so pleased to be in London for Christmas.  It is such a beautiful city…especially at Christmas.  The displays in the windows are fantastic and the smell of roasted chestnuts delicious!

Other than the food, one thing I love about Christmas is the carols!  It is so magical to hear everyone singing when it is dark and the streets are lit by christmas lights.  We are heading off tonight to a carol concert and hope to join in.

Oh no!  It seems that a bear has escaped from London zoo…But don’t worry the Dog Detectives are on the case!

Poco Loco has used his powerful nose to sniff the bear out to Trafalgar Square but now we need some keen eyes to spot him.  Can you?

Ha ha a Great Grizzly Lost in London!

Tour Over but London is Calling!

Well even though our amazing Dog Detectives tour is over, Poco Loco and myself could not help but come back to London.  There are so many cases to get to the bottom of plus we love it here!

So here we are, staying in a nice little house on Barker Street not far from a very edible sounding station…Marylebone.  Yum!

We thought we’d start our London stay by going to see the ravens that we met in Lost in London - hopefully they aren’t causing too much trouble.  Might do that today or tomorrow.  Depends how long it takes to settle in – though one huge plus with travelling by bikes is that there is not much unpacking!

Hmmmm if my nose doesn’t deceive me Poco Loco has just got the tea and biscuits out!

Cheerio!

Wow it seems so long since we last posted.  Poco Loco and I have been on many adventures…sniffing out new cases all through the British countryside.

We’re now almost in Leeds but have been enjoying a bit of an explore in the famous Lake District.

Well the first thing to think is hills hills hills.  I thought we’d seen it all in the hills department…but standing on top of a hill (Hardknott Pass) with a 30% gradient and hair pin bends below us I half debated about dropping back onto all fours and walking slowly down rather than stay on our bikes.

Let’s put it this way, it certainly tested our bike breaks.

So now the Dog Detectives Tour is on its way South – hard to believe but next stop Leeds Waterstone’s!

We’re on TV! The Cyling Book Tour Continues…

The Dog Detective UK Tour was on TV!  Portsmouth Live TV channel came down to Waterstone’s Portsmouth to film the Dog Detectives in action! – Of course Poco Loco forgot to tell you all about it in the last blog….So it is up to me!

Deputy Poco Loco was a little bit nervous but I coped with it like a pro – I think I was made for television.  I can do the one ear up one ear down cute look, which is sure to get people watching.

The book reading in Waterstone’s was amazing and I loved meeting all the little humans.  So cute!  They loved the peppery poop in Great Grizzly North and the riddles in Lost in London.

We’re now on our way to Cheltenham, after doing Salisbury, Bath and our last stop was Bristol – no rest for the wicked, eh?

Mission: London Book Fair

Oh no!  It’s only a couple of days until the London Book Fair and guess what?  Maverick’s London Book Fair folder is missing!

But not to worry the Dog Detectives are on the case!

My sources tell me that this folder contains vital documents imperative to the LBF mission.  If we don’t find it, then all is lost.

I’m typing this from the scene of the crime, whilst I’m supervising my colleague, Deputy Poco Loco, do a  search of the vicinity.

Hang on – I think he has the scent.  Wait wait…No false alarm just a red herring sandwich discarded in the bin.  Oi! Poco pass it here!

Yummy………Wait!  Poco’s found it!  Good job Deputy.

Crisis averted.  Where was it I hear you ask?

…On the boss’ desk.

Dog Detectives US Tour

Jack eatingDetective Jack here! Five months after our planned start date the Dog Detectives are finally cycling, off like a heard of turtles! Wooo hooo! Our plan is to cycle coast to coast across America from St. Augustine, Florida (the oldest city in America) to the beaches of California.  You can follow us on our Books from Bikes blog.

Even though it is the middle of winter the temperatures have been comfortable, even for sun loving Deputy Poco Loco.

Everyone has been really friendly! We bumped into a Raccoon and we stopped with him for a bite to eat.   Then he loaded us up with three big, heavy bags of oranges and grapefruits!  Yummy!

Happy Holidays from the Dog Detectives!

Poco locoBrrr… it is cold outside. Detective Jack reporting from Maine, USA.

It’s all snow and icicles over here at the moment. Good thing I have a nice thick coat of fur. Poor Poco Loco has a thin wiry coat and he has the shivers. He can’t wait until we get south to Florida.

Well, we will be in the big apple, New York City, in a couple days. I am tail over paws about seeing the famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. The tree has more than 30,000 lights and is topped with a crystal star. Oh… it will be so beautiful.

Only 5 days to Christmas and I am wondering if Santa will be able to find the Dog Detectives this year. I have to say I’ve worked hard to stay off the naughty list. Deputy Poco Loco is always nice.

It is a bit difficult typing with my mittens on so it is time for the Dog Detectives to get some hot chocolate. Have a jolly old Christmas.

London Cawling

ravenGood afternoon to you all from the Tower of London.

Deputy Poco and I have been pedaling around London today visiting all the amazing landmarks: Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, The London Eye and Piccadilly Circus. There wasn’t a real circus at Piccadilly Circus but with all the people and cars it was a real circus if you know what I mean. We took a ride on The London Eye and we could see the whole city below our paws. Don’t tell anyone but Deputy Poco is a bit scared of heights.

The highlight of the day was the Tower of London where we shared our tails with the resident ravens: Marley, Merlin, Erin, Baldrick, Hugine, Thor, Gwyllum, and don’t forget Munin. Just don’t make the same mistake I did – the ravens caw-rected me straight away when I mistook them for some crows.
