Hello everyone!
Long time since I have written a blog but I wanted to catch you all before the end of 2011.
Last year I had a fantastic time at a New Year’s party and I can’t believe a whole year has passed since then! Tomorrow I plan on spending the day having a look at some new hats and then hopefully wear one to the party I have been invited to!
It has been a great year and all I can say is….

I had a lovely time at the Royal Wedding at Westminster Abbey last Friday, what a lot of fancy hats with feathers! I hitched a ride back to the Palace in a handy horse-drawn carriage that was waiting outside. I had to move along the seat when a bloke in red and a lady in a lacy white dress got in.
Back at the palace I swapped fashion tips with Sir Elton John over a cucumber sandwich and a cup of camomile. I stayed out of the way of the queen tho, as I didn’t want to end up in the tower… AGAIN!

Hello everyone! It’s a bit late but thought I would write a quick blog to tell you about my recent top hat event. Daisy was recently nominated for Cheshire Woman of the Year – so I donned my top hat and bowtie (any excuse!) to go with Daisy to the awards ceremony.
It was good to meet so many inspirational people (and see the latest hat-fashion). I got so excited looking around the Duke of Westminster’s place that I lost an ear! The dangers of hobnobbing!
What a hat-tastic day!

Well yesterday you may have seen some bizarre hats being worn for St Paddy’s Day…Everything from a giant Guinness glass on people’s heads to the good ol’ green bowler hat.

Hi everyone, Fred here – it’s been snowing all over the country and I got out my bobble hat. You may remember I wore it last year in the snow…well actually this year. I forget that it was January that it snowed.
We’ve had such a busy year with lots of fun hat filled activities. I’ve been all over the country and taken part in so many events. Then locally I’ve done the crafternoons with Daisy at Waterstone’s in Liverpool Bold Street.
Now it’s almost Christmas again…How time flies! If I don’t write another blog before christmas, have a very merry christmas!

The Maverick stand at Spirit of Xmas!
Hello hat fans! I spent two days last week at the Spirit of Christmas Fair in London, getting into the Christmas spirit. Everywhere was decorated beautifully and I could smell all the yummy food that was cooking upstairs. It made me want it to be Christmas already!
I added some festive bits and pieces to my hat (some fairy lights, candy canes and a bit of greenery) – I had lots of compliments. Well of course I do look rather dashing. I had lots of people interested in my book and I am sure Daisy’s hand was aching after all the signing she had to do.
Now only a month and a bit left until the real thing. How exciting!
Big Fred had a brush with the law at Little Sutton Library Summer Fete this week…
Lounging on the police car bonnet in between book readings, Big Fred was making himself at home when the police officer came back from the cake stall. Luckily the police officer in question was a fan of hats too so let Big Fred off with a caution.
Big Fred won a bucket of sweets in the raffle and celebrated by doing his best belly-flop on the bouncy castle.
Paulette the librarian and Daisy pinned all the colourful hat designs up on the washing line and we finished with a reading and some more colouring in.
A great way to celebrate 50 years of Little Sutton Library!
I was looking through my telescope last night and spotted a rather interesting group of stars.
I got straight on the phone to my friends at Nasa who, via the Hubble telescope, confirmed that it was indeed called the Sombrero Galaxy.
Any galaxy named after a hat is well worth a visit, so I have packed my suitcase with a selection of cosmic hats and I’m planning to hitchhike there after I visit Bath Waterstone’s on Saturday.
It is only 28 million light-years from Earth… so I’ll be back in time to feed the cat!

Hello hat fans! I’ve made it into the cinema…Well I may not be on the big screen, but I will be at the Showroom Cinema, in Sheffield on 4th June (a week today!). Then the next day I will be in Leeds Waterstones!
I was asked by Rhyme and Reason Bookshop in Sheffield to do a workshop at the cinema. I have lots of things planned…It will be like having a party!
After giving away my hat collection to the cats maybe the children will help me to make some new ones?
It’s going to be great – hope to see you there for lots of hat fun!
